Numa primeira incursão a novos territórios, em 1992 o Grupo Pestana abre hotéis no Algarve, primeiro destino fora da Madeira e um dos destinos core do grupo. Mais tarde, seguiram-se hotéis em Moçambique e no Rio de Janeiro. Em 1999, o Grupo inicia a expansão em direção à América Latina.
In a first foray into new territory, in 1992 the Pestana Hotel Group opens a hotel in Algarve, the first destination outside of Madeira and one of the group's core destinations, followed by hotels in Mozambique and Rio de Janeiro. In 1999, the group starts the expansion to Latin America.

O Grupo Pestana alcança os 10.000 quartos sob a sua gestão direta. Rumo a novos objetivos, em 2010, abre o primeiro hotel numa capital europeia fora de Portugal, em Londres, seguindo-se Berlim e Barcelona. No ano seguinte, atravessa o Atlântico e inaugura em Miami, EUA.
The Pestana Hotel Group reaches 10.000 rooms under its direct management. Towards new goals, in 2010, the group opened its first hotel in an european capital outside of Portugal, London, followed by hotels in Berlin and Barcelona. In the following year, across the Atlantic, the group opened another hotel in Miami, USA.
